Set on Yedang Reservoir beside the Yedangho Suspension Bridge in Yesan, South Korea, the musical fountain is designed to work in two very different settings: open-water daytime viewing and an illuminated night display. The floating installation measures about 96 metres long and 16 metres wide, with its highest water jets reaching about 110 metres. After dark, the fountain can combine moving water with colored lighting, a water screen, beam projection and laser effects.
Current Fountain Schedule
From May 1 through September 30, Tuesday through Friday, performances are scheduled at 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM. From May 1 through September 30, Saturday and Sunday, performances are scheduled at 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, and 9:00 PM.
How the Fountain Program Runs
Yedangho Musical Fountain operates as a series of scheduled performances rather than as a fountain that runs continuously throughout the day. Yesan County describes a typical performance as containing roughly five songs, with the water movements choreographed to the music.
A performance lasts about 20 minutes.
The musical fountain and laser video show are separate programs. The county publishes their operating times separately, so a fountain performance should not automatically be treated as a laser performance as well. The laser program uses the fountain installation and water screen for a multimedia presentation, while ordinary fountain sessions focus on music, changing jet patterns and lighting.
This distinction is especially useful when planning an evening around the reservoir. Depending on the active timetable, a laser presentation may be scheduled between fountain performances rather than beginning at the same time as one.
What Changes After Sunset
The scale of the installation is easy to understand in daylight, when the individual water patterns and the fountain’s position on the reservoir remain clearly visible. The tallest jets can rise well above the surrounding water, while lower nozzles create broader patterns across the floating fountain structure.
Night performances add another layer. The installation includes a water screen, beam projector and laser equipment, and the fountain sits directly beside the illuminated Yedangho Suspension Bridge. Reflections from the water make the bridge and fountain read as one larger lakeside scene even though their lighting systems and operating schedules are managed separately.
The suspension bridge itself stretches for about 402 metres across Yedang Reservoir. For fountain viewing, the Korea Tourism Organization specifically points to the main tower area near the center of the bridge as a useful viewing position. From there, the elevated angle opens up more of the fountain pattern across the lake rather than limiting the view to the nearest jets.
A lakeside position gives a different perspective, particularly if you want to see the fountain, illuminated bridge and their reflections within the same field of view. The two viewpoints are different enough that visitors staying for more than one performance can experience the display from both the bridge and the shore.
Planning Time at Yedang Reservoir
The show is scheduled from March through the first Sunday of December. The show is closed on Mondays.
The fountain is part of the wider Yedang Tourist Area in Eungbong-myeon, Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. The suspension bridge, lakeside paths and fountain are close enough to combine in the same visit, but bridge access and fountain operation follow separate operating arrangements. An open bridge therefore does not by itself mean that a fountain performance is scheduled.

Weather matters here because the fountain operates directly on the reservoir. Yesan County can suspend performances during unsuitable rain, wind or low-temperature conditions, and maintenance can also produce temporary changes beyond the normal weekly pattern.
Drivers have several parking areas around the tourist site. Yesan County lists parking as free, with designated accessible spaces in multiple parking areas and electric-vehicle charging available at some locations. The parking areas are spread around the attraction rather than concentrated in a single small lot, which is useful when the lakeside area is busy.
