Map
Warsaw’s Multimedia Fountain Park spreads across Podzamcze below the historic center, where the evening program combines moving water, music, colored lighting, lasers, and projected animation. The multimedia performances are different from the fountains’ regular daytime operation, so the scheduled show is the part to plan around when visiting after dark.
Show Schedule
From May 1 through July 31, Friday and Saturday, one performance is scheduled at 9:30 PM. From August 1 through August 31, Friday and Saturday, one performance is scheduled at 9:00 PM. From September 1 through September 30, Friday and Saturday, one performance is scheduled at 8:30 PM.
How the Multimedia Performance Works
The scheduled evening performance uses the fountain installation as more than a set of illuminated water jets. Water movement is synchronized with music, while colored lighting and lasers add another layer to the choreography. Images and animations can also be projected onto a screen formed from fine water spray.
This makes the scheduled multimedia program easy to distinguish from ordinary fountain operation. During the show, the water, soundtrack, lighting, and projection are arranged as one timed presentation rather than running as separate effects.
What You Can See During the Show
The visual scale changes throughout the performance. Some sequences emphasize tall illuminated water columns, while others rely more heavily on the broad water screen, animation, laser effects, and patterns created across the fountain basin. The combination is designed to be viewed from a little distance rather than from directly beside individual jets.
Warsaw’s fountain programs have used animated stories connected with the city, its history, and recognizable cultural themes. The exact production can change between seasons, so returning visitors should not assume that a previous year’s narrative or soundtrack is still the current one.
Watching from the Grassy Slope
The park is at Skwer 1 Dywizji Pancernej WP in Podzamcze, below Warsaw’s historic center and close to the Vistula riverfront. The elevated grassy slope beside the fountain provides a broad view across the installation and is the viewing area highlighted by Warsaw’s official tourism information.
Viewing Tip
A position farther up the grassy slope gives more room to take in the water screen, larger fountain patterns, and lighting across the installation at the same time. Arriving before the scheduled performance also makes it easier to choose a comfortable place without moving through the viewing area after the program has begun.
Reaching the Park from Central Warsaw
The fountain park sits below the Old Town and New Town area, so it can fit naturally into an evening spent in Warsaw’s historic center. The site lies between the streets around Boleść, Wybrzeże Gdańskie, Sanguszki, and Rybaki, with pedestrian approaches from both the upper historic district and the riverfront side.
The slope between the historic center and the Vistula means that walking routes can involve changes in elevation. Visitors who prefer a more accessible approach can use the current city transport and mapping information to choose an entrance suited to their route.
Planning the Evening
A performance lasts about 30 minutes. The performance is therefore compact enough to combine with an evening walk through the nearby historic center or along the Vistula waterfront.
The show is free to watch. The fountain show takes place in an open public setting rather than an enclosed auditorium, so there is no traditional theater-style seating arrangement.
The show is scheduled from May through September 2026. The outdoor water-based multimedia program should not be confused with winter activity at the same site, when the fountain area may instead host seasonal light installations and music-based illumination.
Accessibility and Daytime Use
Official Warsaw tourism information lists facilities for visitors with mobility and hearing disabilities, support for Polish Sign Language users, and access with an assistance dog. Anyone relying on a particular accessibility arrangement should use the current venue information when planning the approach to the park.
The area is also used outside the nighttime multimedia program. During the warmer season, the fountains provide a daytime recreational setting, and a nearby water playground gives younger children a separate place to interact with ground-level water features. These daytime activities are distinct from the scheduled multimedia performance.
