Jewel Changi Airport’s Rain Vortex becomes a Light & Music Showcase after dark, using the 40-meter indoor waterfall as the central surface for coordinated lighting and music. The waterfall sits in the heart of Forest Valley, so the nighttime display can be seen from several surrounding levels rather than from a single dedicated auditorium.
Light & Music Show Times
Monday through Thursday, performances are scheduled at 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Friday through Sunday, performances are scheduled at 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 10:00 PM.
How the Rain Vortex Changes After Dark
During the day, the Rain Vortex is primarily a 40-meter waterfall dropping through Jewel’s central atrium toward the basement. At night, projected light and music turn the falling water into the focus of a short choreographed presentation. The illuminated cascade remains physically integrated with Forest Valley rather than operating as a separate theater attraction.
The distinction between waterfall operating hours and Light & Music performance times is useful when planning a visit. Seeing the Rain Vortex during the day does not mean a show is running, and the nighttime program follows its own listed schedule.
Special-event and seasonal editions have also been staged at the Rain Vortex, so the soundtrack and projected imagery seen in older photos or videos may not match the program playing during a later visit.
Watching from Around Forest Valley
The Rain Vortex occupies the central opening of Jewel, with Forest Valley arranged around it across several levels. This creates multiple public viewing angles rather than one assigned viewing area. A position nearer the lower levels emphasizes the base of the falling water, while viewpoints higher in the atrium make it easier to take in more of the waterfall’s vertical drop and the surrounding glass-and-steel interior.
Viewing Tip
Arriving before the listed performance gives you time to choose a comfortable position around the central atrium instead of moving between levels once the music begins.
Forest Valley itself extends through several floors and has walking trails, seating and multiple exit points. That makes it possible to combine the nighttime show with a walk through the indoor garden rather than treating the Rain Vortex as a stop that requires a separate venue entrance.
Reaching the Rain Vortex from the Airport
Jewel is part of Changi Airport’s public area. From Terminal 1, it connects directly with the Arrival Hall on Level 1. From Terminals 2 and 3, pedestrian link bridges provide access to Jewel from the departure levels, with the walk generally taking several minutes.
Passengers staying inside the airside transit area cannot simply walk into Jewel without entering Singapore. A transit passenger planning to see the Rain Vortex must be able to clear immigration and meet the applicable entry requirements, so the available layover time matters as much as the show schedule.
Once inside Jewel, follow signs toward Forest Valley and the Rain Vortex. The waterfall is positioned at the center of the complex and is visible from multiple surrounding floors.
