At the entrance to Dadaepo Beach in Busan, the Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dreams turns a broad circular floor fountain into a synchronized night display of water, music, and lighting. Its position beside the beach also makes it easy to combine the fountain with a waterfront walk or sunset stop before the evening program.
Current Performance Pattern
From April 24 through August 31, Tuesday through Friday, one performance is scheduled at 8:00 PM. From April 24 through August 31, Saturday and Sunday, performances are scheduled at 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM. From September 1 through September 30, Tuesday through Friday, one performance is scheduled at 7:30 PM. From September 1 through September 30, Saturday and Sunday, performances are scheduled at 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM.
How the Night Fountain Program Works
The main nighttime program is a choreographed music fountain. Water jets rise directly from the plaza floor in programmed formations while colored lighting changes with the soundtrack. Rather than watching a single static spray pattern, spectators see the shape and height of the water change throughout the performance.
The venue also operates interactive floor-fountain sessions during scheduled periods. These are different from the full nighttime music program, so a water-play session should not be treated as another performance of the same show.
Music Show or Interactive Fountain?
The music fountain is the choreographed show with soundtrack and lighting. Interactive fountain periods use the plaza differently and are listed separately in the operating information.
Program patterns can also be adjusted for special events or operating conditions. The live schedule provides the date-specific information needed for deciding which performance to attend without relying on a fixed time that may later change.
A Large Floor Fountain Beside Dadaepo Beach
The fountain opened in 2010 and was designed as a large circular installation built directly into the plaza. Saha-gu records a 60-meter circular diameter and a maximum water height of 55 meters, giving the choreography room to move between low floor-level patterns and much taller vertical jets.

Saha-gu states that the installation was entered in Guinness World Records in 2010 as the world’s largest floor fountain. The floor-based design is also important from a visitor’s perspective: there is no large raised basin separating the fountain pattern from the surrounding plaza.
Choosing How Close to Stand
A position a little farther from the fountain makes it easier to take in more of the circular choreography at once. Moving closer brings individual jets and lighting effects into stronger view, although wind can carry more spray toward spectators near the fountain edge.
The beach and fountain occupy the same wider visitor area, so the setting changes naturally as daylight fades. A pre-show walk along Dadaepo Beach can be followed by the illuminated fountain without traveling to a separate part of Busan.
Getting to the Fountain and Planning Your View
The fountain is located at 14 Morundae 1-gil, Saha-gu, Busan, near the entrance to Dadaepo Beach. Dadaepo Beach Station on Busan Metro Line 1 is the nearest subway stop, making rail a practical option for an evening visit.
Because the performance area is broad and circular, there is no need to concentrate on a single narrow viewing angle. A wider position helps with seeing the overall pattern, while a closer position favors the movement of individual jets. Arriving before dark also leaves time to explore the beach area before choosing where to watch.
Access Note
Visit Busan lists a ramp, accessible parking, and an accessible restroom among the facilities at the Dadaepo Beach attraction area.
The fountain is an outdoor coastal attraction, so operating conditions can change when the weather becomes unsuitable. Outdoor operation can change because of weather or operational conditions.
